Sharing groups

Each consumer in Luxembourg has the right to apply self-consumption and sharing

You can share your electricity with other people.
To share your electricity with neighbours in the same building, you must become a member of an AC.
To share your electricity with other people who are located further away, you must become a member of a CE.
Sharing your electricity makes you less dependent on your supplier and allows you to save money.

AC

Jointly acting renewables self-consumers

If you want to share electricity with your neighbours, you must become a member of an AC.
To do this, you must sign an agreement with your grid operator.
This agreement defines the rules for sharing electricity.
If you wish, you can leave an AC.

CE

Energy Community

If you want to share your electricity with other people outside your home, you must become a member of a CE. To do this, you must sign an agreement with your grid operator.
This agreement defines the rules for sharing electricity.
You can be a member of an AC and a CE at the same time.
This allows you to share electricity first with your direct neighbours, then with other people outside your house.
If you wish, you can leave a CE.

Hierarchical sharing model

A single POD can belong to several sharing groups

When the POD of an individual renewable energy self-consumer is assigned to several Sharing groups, the distribution of the produced electrical energy is carried out first at the AC level, then, in the event of excess electrical energy, at the local level (CE-L) and finally at the national level (CE-N).

A single POD can belong to a maximum of one AC and both to a CE at the local level (CE-L) and to a CE at the national level (CE-N).
